    About CIPA

CIPA – Centre for Indo-Portuguese Arts – Centro de Artes Indo-Portuguesas – based in Panjim, Goa, India, promotes some of the arts that grew as a result of the Portuguese connection in India and specifically in Goa.

CIPA is located in a 200-year old Indo-Portuguese heritage house in the heart of Panjim city, overlooking the River Mandovi, in the vicinity of the Adil Shah Palace and the Customs Museum.

The arts specially represented at CIPA include the musical arts (fado and mando), plastic arts (Azulejos), literary arts (books in Portuguese, Konkani and English) and culinary arts (Portuguese and Goan).

CIPA is an umbrella organisation for Azulejos de Goa, Cháfé Braz, de Noronha Associates, Madragoa, Renascença Goa, Third Millennium Foundation, and Third Millennium Publishers, operating from 7/2, DB Avenue, Opp. Captain of Ports Jetty, Panjim, Goa, India.

Azulejos de Goa (1998) was the first to introduce locally-designed azulejo (hand painted tiles) in Goa, an art that perfectly mirrors the rich Indo-Portuguese culture of the land.

Cháfé Braz (2021) is a café serving unique & traditional Indo-Portuguese delicacies in the heart of Panjim city.

de Noronha Associates (2013) (DNA) produces personalised, designer crockery.

Madragoa (2019) is the world’s first house of Fado and Mandó. The Fado and the Mandó are iconic musical forms of Portugal and Goa. They are performed here in a unique style.

Renascença Goa (2018) is a monthly chat show in Portuguese, highlighting Indo-Portuguese cultural themes. The show is aired on 105.4 MHz FM Rainbow, a local radio channel, on the last Sunday of the month at 2.30 pm. The episodes are also available on our YouTube channel.

Third Millennium Foundation (2008) is a registered charitable trust focusing on the family, education, health and society, with a soft spot for the differently-abled.

Third Millennium Publishers (2002) is India’s only house publishing fiction and non-fiction works in Portuguese, Konkani and English, with a special accent on Goan themes. The titles are for sale at CIPA.
